Power outage caused by Aurora car crash to last through early evening, according to Xcel

All lanes of Havana Street in Aurora are closed Saturday after a car struck and downed a section of powerlines — causing a power outage — before fleeing the scene.

Havana Street closed between Del Mar Parkway and East 10th Street after the crash happened around 4:00 a.m., .

A description of the suspect vehicle and an estimated time for when the road would reopen was not available Saturday morning.

As of 4:40 p.m., Xcel Energy reported that 559 Aurora homes in the area of the crash didn’t have power.

, the outage started around 4:10 a.m. and is expected to be resolved by 6:30 p.m.
