Westbound lanes of 6th Avenue are closed early Friday morning following a fatal crash involving a motorist and a pedestrian.
Traffic is being diverted off westbound 6th Avenue onto North Sheridan Boulevard. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes as Denver Police officers investigate.
Police first shared news of the incident at about 3:33 a.m. Friday and said the driver stayed at the scene following the crash. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner on June 27 identified the pedestrian as Casey King, 39, and said the death was caused by blunt-force injuries and that the manner of death is accident.
