A woman died while in custody at the Denver County Jail after she was found unresponsive, sheriff’s officials said Friday.
The woman was found in a housing unit at 2:40 p.m. and an emergency medical team tried to perform life-saving measures, the said in a news release.
The identified the woman as 61-year-old Alane Davis.
Her cause and manner of death are still under investigation, officials said.
The Denver Police Department is investigating Davis’s death.
