Schedules get a extra hectic this time of year. The late-night shopping. The multiple holiday parties. The dinner guests, visiting relatives, travel schedules. It’s easy to let your normal three- squares-a-day eating habits get tossed out the window. But all is not lost; next time you’re running around downtown and realize it’s 9 p.m. and you’ve yet to eat a proper meal, drop into The Lure.
A newish lounge and restaurant near Larimer Square, The Lure offers executive chef Eric Roeder’s bistro fare until 1 a.m. nightly. Pop into the snug, narrow space and grab one of the cushy half-round booths. Admire the soft lighting behind the bar as you order a perfectly made martini or a glass of wine off the lengthy cocktail menu, and settle in for an elegant late-night meal. The menu includes appetizers, small plates, entrees, and desserts; cold nights call for a cup of the spicy corn soup and the kicky chocolate pot du crème spiked with black pepper. Heads up to the gals: On Thursday nights, drop by in the evenings and take advantage of the weekly ladies’ night special for half-price bottles of champagne. 1434 Blake St., 303-446-2222.
