A Thornton man suspected of shooting two people at a New Year’s party in Arvada is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond.
Arvada police suspect Francisco Ornelas of shooting two men at about 2 a.m. in the 6400 block of West 80th Drive, at the Lake Arbor subdivision, police said.
Ornelas, who is suspected of fleeing the scene, was arrested later in the day on Friday. He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of two counts of first degree assault and two counts of attempted first degree murder.
Both victims, ages 21 and 23, are expected to survive their wounds.
Police did not release a motive in the shooting.
