Jim Clifton, who leads Gallup Inc., a company perhaps best known for conducting the Gallup Poll, will be the speaker when the Denver Scholarship Foundation has its annual fundraising dinner Nov. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center.
This was revealed at a kickoff party where the co-chairs — Dr. Dean Prina, Libby Brown and Zachary Neumeyer — also announced that DaVita will be the title sponsor. Already, $400,000 in sponsorship commitments have been received.
Clifton also is the author of “The Coming Jobs War,” and is expected to share his thoughts about the results of the 2012 presidential election. Prina, a pediatrician, is chairman of the Denver Scholarship Foundation board, and this marks his fourth year as the dinner’s chair; Brown is president of the Anschutz Foundation; and Neumeyer is chairman of .
Denver Scholarship Foundation was started by Tim and Bernadette Marquez as a means of “inspiring and empowering Denver Public Schools students to achieve their dreams of attending college.” Since 2007, the foundation has given 2,600 students $13.3 million in scholarships.
