Children don’t like to hear “open wide” from a dentist, but it beats a mouthful of toothaches. On Feb. 7, Colorado dentists participate in Give Kids a Smile Day by offering free dental services to uninsured children from families who can’t afford such care. Treatments go beyond cleaning and can include exams, X-rays, and emergency treatment. Appointments must be made in advance and are available at CU School of Dental Medicine (13065 E. 17th Ave. in Aurora.) Call 303-724-2273. If the school isn’t convenient, ask your school nurse or find other locations at the Colorado Dental Association website.
