Cone heads

To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, McDonalds is treating customers to a sweet freebie on July 16. Download the McDonald’s mobile app to redeem the offer for a free soft serve vanilla cone. Even sweeter, one customer will receive a special “Golden Arches Cone.” The limited-edition cone entitles the winner to McDonald’s soft serve for life. Pancake party

Blow out the candles and bring on the butter and syrup. For its 59th anniversary, IHOP is serving up a short stack of buttermilk pancakes for 59 cents on July 18. Hop over to IHOP for the syrupy sweet deal from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Limit one short stack per customer. The price is just a penny less than its original price of 60 cents back in 1958.’

Dollar dogs

Enjoy one of America’s favorite summertime foods “on the cheap” with a doggone good deal. On July 19, an all-American or chili cheese dog is just $1 at Sonic Drive-In. The discounted dogs are available all day, with no limit. At such a low-price, the whole clan can munch on lunch for under $10. Remember, the chain’s popular summer shake promo continues — get half-price shakes or ice cream slushes after 8 p.m. Deal seekers should combine the offers for maximum savings.

Candy land

This promo from See’s Candies will definitely take a lickin’. The candy shop is giving customers a free lollypop on July 20. Flavors include chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, chocolate coconut, caf’ latt’ and the new limited-time root beer float. One lolly per person. The lollypops normally sell for about a buck each. There are four shops in Colorado: Denver, Littleton, Loveland and Colorado Springs.

Fair deal

The fun doesn’t start at the Arapahoe County Fair until July 27, but now is the time for bargain hunters to buy tickets. Admission includes unlimited carnival rides, all rodeos, main stage concerts, fireworks, 4-H shows, tractor pulls, the high-flying Dock Dogs competition and loads of family-friendly entertainment. Little ones can meet plenty of furry and feathery farm animals, including rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. Buy tickets online before July 27 and save $5 – with tickets just $10 each. (Tickets will be $15 per person at the gate, cash only.) Children under 36″ in height get in free.

Cool canines

Who says freebies are just for the two-legged? Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard is serving up a freebie Fido will definitely like (and lick), during the “dog days” of summer. Through July 31, dogs get a free PawBender — no purchase necessary. The canine-friendly treat is a small pup-sized cup filled with vanilla custard, doggie biscuits and peanut butter. Dogs must be accompanied by a human parent.

Pizza party

One of Denver’s family-owned Italian restaurants is celebrating 13 years of serving pizza, pasta and salads. To mark the occasion, Mici Handcrafted Italian is cooking up complimentary pizza for all. On’July 19, from’11 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will serve a free slice from one of two customer favorites, the DiGirolomo and Formaggio pizzas. The offer is for dine-in only, while supplies last. Limit one slice per person. The popular eatery has four locations — three in Denver and one in Highlands Ranch.’
