One person was injured Tuesday morning when an airplane failed to climb high enough during take off and crashed into a fence outside the Meadow Lake Airport in El Paso County.
The two-person plane crashed just after 9 a.m. while performing touch-and-go maneuvers, in which a plane lands on a runway, travels on the pavement and takes off again without stopping, said Jacqueline Kirby, spokeswoman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The pilot had non-life threatening injuries, but Kirby said she could not specify what those are. The passenger was not injured.
The Federal Aviation Administration was responding to the incident just before 10 a.m. Tuesday, Kirby said.
