Denver weather: Light snow on Tuesday previews rest of the week

Tuesday begins with some light snow in the Denver area, with more expected later this week.

The National Weather Service in Boulder said to watch out for morning fog followed by a slight chance of snow after 10 a.m. It will likely mix with rain by the evening commute. The chance of any precipitation is around 30% with a high of 44 degrees. Winds will pick up throughout the day with the metro area getting wind gusts up to 18 mph while the plains may get up to around 35 mph.

By Tuesday night, there’s a 70% chance of snow, but the accumulation is expected to be less than a half-inch. Otherwise, skies will be cloudy with a low of 28 degrees.

Chances for snow continue into Wednesday just in time for the morning commute and may last until the early afternoon. Accumulation will stay low, about less than an inch, under mostly cloudy skies. Look for a high near 41 degrees. Thursday may supply a short break with a high of 52, but snow and rain showers will creep back into the area by Friday.
