Denver police are investigating a homicide that left one woman dead, and a suspect is in custody.
ALERT: is conducting a homicide investigation in the 5000 block of W Colfax Ave. The victim is an adult female. One suspect is in custody at this time. ID & cause of death will be provided by the Office of the Medical Examiner.

The stabbing, described as a domestic violence incident, happened at the Western Hills Motel, 5035 W. Colfax Ave., according to police. A suspect, Israel Casarez, 49, is being held on investigation of first-degree murder. Police were called to the motel at 11:05 p.m. Friday.
The victim’s identity, as well as her cause and manner of death, will be released by the Denver medical examiner’s office.
