“At this time, it appears that the victim … and suspect were unknown to each other and that the shooting occurred after the suspect was seen driving a stolen Dodge Ram aggressively on the highway,” police said on Friday.
Immediately after the shooting, the suspect was in a crash involving multiple vehicles, including a stolen white Hyundai Santa Fe, police said. People in the Hyundai fled on foot, and investigators are trying to determine whether they were connected to the shooting suspect, who had fled on foot. Police did not release his name because he is a juvenile.
