Interstate 70 reopened overnight after a crash caused a full closure near Vail on Sunday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The interstate was closed in both directions between Exit 190 for Vail Pass Summit and Exit 180 for East Vail, about 3 miles west of Copper Mountain, according to CDOT officials.

According to CDOT, westbound I-70 was also closed for “safety concerns” between Exit 190 for Vail Pass Summit and Exit 201 for Frisco.

CDOT officials did not say if the second, extended closure was related to the crash.

The interstate reopened overnight, but reported ice and obstacles in the area Monday morning.
