Firefighters have gotten an Aurora apartment fire under control

Aurora firefighters have extinguished a blaze that broke out Monday morning in a North Aurora apartment building, authorities say.

The fire broke out near Sable and Montview boulevards, according to a 6:55 a.m. Aurora Fire Rescue tweet.

The fire was under control by 7 a.m.

Residents of the apartments were safely evacuated.

Authorities have not released details about how the fire got started.
